The Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre, Game of Thrones, Giro d’Italia and a host of research and development programmes have all been part-financed through Northern Ireland’s successes in gaining EU funds. The Achievements & Successes document published by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment highlights the projects to which theEuropean Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland has contributed.
The Programme was worth €566m in total and was 50% funded by the European Regional Development Programme. The successor is the Investment for Jobs and Growth Programme for 2014-2020.
