Experience Northern Ireland Opera’s Festival of Voice Competition; DIALOGOS - a performance of poetry, music and dance; a tour from Derry~Londonderry’s Tower Museum; as well as a jam packed programme of workshops, lectures, panel discussions, podcasts, digital storytelling and exhibitions to celebrate Good Relations Week 2020.

The Festival of Voice

Northern Ireland Opera’sFestival of Voice Competition’ has been filmed for the first time this year. The film will be released on the NI Opera’s Youtube Channel this Saturday at 8pm and will feature behind-the-scenes footage of the finalists in the preparations for the recital as they work on their arias, ensemble pieces and songs. The film will also feature highlights from the concert which was recorded live in front of a small audience at First Church Belfast. Be sure to tune in for some wonderful performances from the finalists; David Corr (baritone), Andrew Irwin (tenor), Jade Phoenix (soprano), Sarah Luttrell (mezzo-soprano) and David Howes (bass baritone).

DIALOGOS

Live from Belfast, the Accidental Theatre will stream DIALOGOS, a performance of poetry, music and dance on Saturday 12th September at 5pm. Dancer Mayte Segura (Mexico) and musician Victor Henriquez (Chile) have engaged in a creative dialogue, exploring their experiences as artists living in Northern Ireland. The show is inspired by Latin-American culture as well as their own individual personal journeys. Watch live and book your free tickets here.

Tower Museum Stores Tour #EHODNI

To celebrate this week’s European Heritage Open Days, the Tower Museum in Derry~Londonderry is hosting a Virtual Tour of the Museum’s stores. The behind the scenes event will feature thousands of artefacts and archives related to the history and heritage of the North West of Northern Ireland. Join the tour on Saturday 12th September at 10:15am on the Museum’s Youtube channel and discover some fascinating collections with this unique event.

Good Relations Week 2020

This year’s Good Relations Week 2020, “Celebrating our Journey, Embracing our Future” will take place online from Monday 14th - 21st September. Celebrating 30 years of peace building, the week will highlight the efforts of people and communities in tackling sectarianism and racism, and promoting cultural diversity in Northern Ireland. It will feature over 150 online events and digital content with the programme including workshops, lectures, panel discussions, podcasts, digital storytelling and exhibitions.
