This Summer Postcard episode features Dara McAnulty reading an extract from his book The Diary of a Young Naturalist.
Dara McAnulty is a 17 year old naturalist and author, living in Co Down. His debut work of narrative non-fiction Diary of a Young Naturalist won four literary awards including the Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing, making him the youngest ever recipient of a major literary prize. His first work for younger readers Wild Child, a multi-sensory journey into nature, has just been released. He is working on his next work of narrative non-fiction Wanderings of a Young Naturalist exploring the connection between Irish mythology, nature and culture.
