Brussels celebrates Culture Night 2022
The Office of the Northern Ireland Executive in Brussels was thrilled to bring the much-loved Culture Night celebrations back to our friends in Brussels this year. Guests were delighted to rediscover the fun of Culture Night, with its eagerly-awaited return to the Brussels calendar after a two year break due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
With the collaboration of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and FoodNI, the night was a roaring success, with over 100 guests enjoying top-quality Northern Irish entertainment, food and drink.
Musical Comedian Emer Maguire from Strabane, Co. Tyrone, had the audience in stitches with her hilarious stand-up routine and wonderful singing performance featuring her trusty guitar and keyboard. Emer is a talented communicator and performer, who flawlessly blends laugh out loud musical comedy, science, and Northern Irish charm. Her work is varied but focuses on communication in all its forms, whether it’s on radio, podcasts, or on stage, Emer adds a feelgood, unique vibe as a guest performer for all kinds of events. Her debut solo show ‘Emer Maguire: Hilarious Humans’ enjoyed a sell-out run at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and her brand-new show ‘Up To High Doh’ has already sold out its upcoming Mac Theatre Belfast date.
A hearty selection of Northern Irish burgers and ice cream were enjoyed by all afterwards, along with snacks, beers, ciders and wine. These treats were then complemented by delicious Pooka Hazelnut Poitín Liqueur cocktails – recipes available on request!
The Office of the Northern Ireland Executive in Brussels would like to thank Emer, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, FoodNI and all of our guests for making Culture Night 2022 such a special evening! We look forward to showing Brussels a little bit of Northern Ireland again next year!
