The Office of the Northern Ireland Executive Brussels were delighted to host the hybrid workshop; “Youth Beyond Borders. How to Overcome Obstacles” as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek).
The Office collaborated with regional partners from Saarland (DE), Pomorskie (PL), Friuli Venezia Giulia (IT), Valle d’Aosta (IT) and Kärnten (AT) to provide our participants with an informative event that covered cross-border youth projects in each region and highlighted lessons we can learn from each other.
Northern Ireland’s perspective was provided by Angila Chada, Executive Director of Springboard Opportunities who gave insights into the essential work of the Peace4Youth ‘Journeys’ programme. Angila engaged with speakers from across our partner regions to explore how they could learn from the successes of the programme.
The event was held both in-person and online, and included contributions from speakers in German, Italian and Polish to ensure that as many as possible could be involved with such an important discussion. We are thrilled that the event reached over 130 attendees in total, with the majority of participants attending in person.
Following the event, guests were invited to a networking lunch, rounding off another fantastic European Week of Regions and Cities for this year.
We are grateful to our EWRC partners for their incredible work putting together the event with us. We would also like to thank all those who attended both online and in-person for their engagement throughout the workshop.
We are looking forward to next year’s #EURegionsWeek already!
