Ulster Fry for St. Patrick’s Day 2025

On the 18 March, the Office of the Northern Ireland Executive in Brussels held our annual Ulster Fry for St Patrick’s Day. 190 guests enjoyed the delicious Ulster Fry, featuring Northern Ireland produce sourced by FoodNI.

We were delighted that Junior Minister Aisling Reilly and Junior Minister Pam Cameron joined us in Brussels to host this year’s event. Aodhán Connolly, Director of the Office, opened the event and welcomed Ministers and guests to the breakfast, followed by short speeches by the Junior Ministers. Minister for the Cabinet Office (Minister for the Constitution and European Union Relations) Rt Hon Nick Thomas-Symonds MP also joined us for breakfast.

The Ulster Fry showcases fantastic Northern Ireland produce. On the menu this year were pork and beef sausages and bacon from Lisburn’s Carnbrooke meats, and black pudding and white pudding from Gracehill in County Antrim. An Ulster Fry is not complete without potato, soda and wheaten bread, which was sourced from Stonemanor British shop outside Brussels. The bread was made by Portadown’s Irwin’s bakery.

Guests also enjoyed apple juice from Armagh based Longmeadow Cider, as well as tea and coffee from Belfast’s finest Thompson’s tea and Baillie’s Coffee Roasters.

Showcasing Northern Ireland business and creativity, Invest Northern Ireland sponsored gift bags containing memorable socks from Born and Bred.

Once again, this year’s Ulster Fry was a great success, and we were delighted to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with colleagues and friends from across the organisations and institutions based in Brussels.

Thank you to FoodNI and Stonemanor for sourcing the excellent Northern Ireland produce that made it all possible!
